Your child will learn how to use ICT by:

Please NOTE that some of the other applications such as podcast etc will be use in the second semester.
In a modern digital age world, it is important for your child to be exposed to ICT in school to enhance their learning (Prensky, 2001). I would like to ensure that your child is able to become successful in future, actively engages with other peers, engage your child in various tasks and to become an effective learner.
The aim of using ICT in a classroom
ICT is vital in today's classroom. Incorporating ICTs in the classroom allows students to:

learn in different ways and encourage them to become ICT literate and prepare them for the future.

It enhances students teaching and learning.

Provides students with opportunities to communicate more effectively.

Become competent and involved learners.

Explore various technology and use it as a learning tool.

The three reasons as to why we use ICT for your child to:
1. Increase their communication skills with their peers
2. Increase their learning through exploring.
3. Learning through inquiry.
We use the interactive whiteboard quite often in our classroom. I thought i would put the link here so that you can visit and watch the video and spend some of your free time as it shows the importance of using whiteboard in the classroom. I would strongly encourage you to sing up for 'Scootle' as it provides access to a range of digital resources that has been integrated with the Australian curriculum to help you with any additional support that you may need for your child's learning.
